School holiday activities
Today we welcomed 20 very excited children to the farm for the first of our Summer Holiday Mini Farmer Club Activity days. They were an absolute pleasure to be with and threw themselves into all the activities.
During their time with us the children become mini farmers for the day getting involved in looking after the goats, sheep, horses, chicks and ducks to name but a few!
Our sessions are always really popular with many children returning for multiple days with us. We love to watch their confidence around the animals grow and have had wonderful feedback from parents:
“Our children attended the holiday "Mini farmers" day today and have had such an amazing experience! Thank you to all the staff for such a fun packed day, and to see a baby kid being born too! they have definitely built some memories today.”
The South Brockwells Farm Education Centre provides a distinctive farm-based learning opportunity for children, young people, families and community groups across Sussex
Care Home birthday celebrations
Our Mobile Farm was invited to The Bevern View Care Home to help two residents celebrate their 30th and 50th birthdays.
What a wonderful day it was and was clearly enjoyed by both the residents and their families. Felix, our 4 year old Ram, was a firm favourite, with his gentle demeanour and love of people, how could he not be adored?
Cheeky Stanley, the Boer goat Kid, soon discovered that he could get at his feed if he stood up and reached onto the residents' wheelchair tables - clever boy! This was met with lots of laughter from the residents who let us know that they wanted us to put more feed for him.
Grooming our Shetland pony ‘Beckham’ was also very popular and was performed with the help of carers and family members - their joy was clear to see.
Did you know that animals provide a wealth of sensory and therapeutic benefits for both children and adults with disabilities?

Take home a little ray of sunshine
Our sunflower field is looking blooming marvellous! Why not pop into the shop and buy some freshly picked sunflowers to take home for yourself or as a gift to help make someone's day - you can't help but smile with these little rays of sunshine in the house. We also offer trade deliveries locally.
We are not the only ones enjoying our sunflowers, so are the bees! Their hives are just a short flight away on the edge of the sunflower field and they are producing lots of delicious honey. We have raw honeycomb and plenty of our home produced honey for sale in our farm shop.
Burgers, bangers and BBQs
With BBQ season well and truly upon us, why not pop into our Farm Shop and buy some of our succulent sausages, burgers or delicious free range pork chops.
If it's new season lamb or goat meat that you would like, why not place an order for your favourite cut and we can have it ready for you. Also look out for our growing range of own recipe sausages, which will be showcased at the Open Farm and Sausage Feastival!
